Joseph Ojuki is a youth and gender advocate with focus on youth, adolescent and young women inclusion in meaningful Engagement in Policy, decision making and Budget engagements. Joseph has cut a niche in family planning, gender mainstreaming, adolescent and youth economic empowerment and adolescents youth sexual reproductive health advocacy and has contributed to the development of policies that affect adolescents and young people in Kisumu County. He has over 7 years’ worth of practical experience in designing, implementing, engaging in, monitoring and documenting youth-centric advocacy initiatives locally and national levels. Joseph also has a wealth of experience in community development work particularly around mobilization, Research, budget-advocacy and planning, climate and environmental matters and media advocacy. Joseph is also a seasoned practitioner in the entire project management cycle – a fete that he has overtime enhanced through his work with community as well as different county governments, particular health ministries of Kisumu County, Homabay county ,Nairobi County, Kakamega County and Busia County among others. Joseph Ojuki holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, certificate in project management, certificate in geographical information system. He is also, a senior member of the Kisumu County CSOs’ forum in Kisumu County – an outfit that pushes young peoples’ sexual health matters with the County Government of Kisumu.

With a BSc in Clinical Medicine and Community Health, Joy merges her medical expertise with a fervent dedication to research, community health advocacy, and sickle cell awareness. Joy's unyielding commitment to research stems from her belief in its power to revolutionize healthcare. Her thirst for knowledge drives her to explore innovative solutions to intricate health challenges, consistently pushing the boundaries of conventional wisdom. At the heart of Joy's pursuits lies her ardor for community health advocacy. She tirelessly champions awareness initiatives, particularly in the realm of sickle cell disease. Her empathetic approach not only bridges informational gaps but also emboldens individuals to seize control of their health journeys. Central to Joy's ethos is the understanding that nurturing the well-being of adolescents, girls, young women, and youth is paramount for holistic societal advancement. By tackling their distinct health obstacles head-on and offering targeted resources, she envisions a future marked by improved overall health and empowerment for all. In Joy Gwendo, the role of a Clinical Officer seamlessly intertwines with that of a research enthusiast and a tireless advocate for community health. Her work continues to wield a profound impact, fostering healthier communities and a brighter tomorrow. Currently, Joy leads programs at the Health and Economic Development Strategy Organization (HEDSO), channeling her passion into impactful health and economic initiatives. Tyson is a highly motivated and dedicated Public Health professional with a strong background in Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender. Tyson holds a degree in Environmental Health, Certificate in Gender and Health System Strengthening, Certificate in Sexual Reproductive Health and SRHR advocacy. He has extensive experience working as a Sexual Reproductive Health and Gender Officer, focusing on promoting equitable access to SRH services and information, and advocating for gender mainstreaming in health systems. With expertise in policy advocacy, health system strengthening, and gender equality in public health, Tyson excels at developing and executing strategies to address SRH and gender-related challenges. His commitment to improving health outcomes and upholding the rights of individuals sets him apart. He has over 2 years experience in Programs management with expertise in project planning and management, program development, budget management, team coordination and stakeholder engagement.

With over 2 years of expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), I have contributed to various health-related projects, employing data-driven approaches to measure impact and ensure program effectiveness. He holds a degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, where he acquired a solid foundation in research methodologies and statistical analysis.
